  • Looking for The Barbican Bootleg

Frizzi 2 Fulci at The Barbican in October 2014

I’m trying to track down, and willing to buy*, a copy of Frizzi 2 Fulci – The Barbican Bootleg on Beat Records Company.

I was at the Frizzi 2 Fulci show at London’s Barbican for Halloween in 2014 and it was a great night. I’ve been to a few film music performances and for the diversity of music and the musicians performing this was certainly one of the best, so I’d recommend it if you like this kind of thing and have the chance.

Why am I trying to track down a copy of this specific release and posting it on here I hear you ask?

Well the short answer is because a photo I took on the night was used on the back cover of this release (without my knowledge)

I only found out about it when a friend sent me a link to a copy that had just sold on eBay. It would seems a few sold on there but I guess, perhaps as the music isn’t fully licensed or something, they only seem to sell this CD at live shows.

  • November already? It’ll soon be Christmas…

No-one is more surprised than me to walk past the towns carpet shop and see the large poster in their window announcing boldly “6 CARPET FITTING WEEKS TILL XMAS”

But I’ve checked the calendar and they seem to be right so (Christmas commercialist tone switch warning) if you are stuck with that one gift for that one awkward person who seems to have everything how about a paperback copy of “Christmas Movies, Reviewed” from S C Lee. Its available in paperback from the UK and in the US and also as an ebook. The attentive ones amongst you may have recognised that name and may have guessed that yours truly did the cover for this, and you’d be right too.

Its not the kind of subject matter I generally tend to be asked to do, well apart from the odd Christmas card, oh and those festive cards for The Red Knob a few years back, so it was a pleasure to get to have a go at something like this and to have it turn out quite well.

As ever you can read more about the book on the S C Lee online website.

I actually completed this a couple of months ago but Steven aked me to delay posting it untill a date long since past, as such its ended up in my drafts folder with a dozen other half written posts. So now at least theres one less in there.

I was quite pleased how this one turned out, sometimes less is more. That said I really much get some of these posts finished.

More details on the novel as they develop on the authors website*.
